“All people become sisters”

A musical commitment to fraternity

The sister duo Anouchka & Katharina Hack, cello and grand piano, show the unconditional bond and solidarity of siblings with their new program “Alle Menschen werden Schwestern”. The pair interpret selected works with great sensitivity and impressive precision, deliberately focusing on “sisterhood” as an alternative concept to the historically much-praised “brotherhood”.

The album’s musical selection includes compositions by famous sisters and siblings – including works by Nadia and Lili Boulanger and Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn. The highlight is the title piece by Ukrainian composer Marina Baranova, which was inspired by Beethoven’s “Alle Menschen werden Brüder” and composed especially for the duo. The very first bars of this work reveal how masterfully Anouchka and Katharina Hack harmonize with great agility and deeply felt emotionality – an interplay that is second to none.

For over ten years, the Hack duo has been delighting audiences on the most important concert stages and festivals in Germany and Europe and celebrating international success. The multi-award-winning cellist Anouchka Hack – winner of the Prix Firmenich at the Verbier Festival – and the award-winning pianist Katharina Hack, winner of the Steinway Advancement Award, not only impress with their virtuosically perfect interplay, but also with their stylistic versatility and innovative approach to an extraordinary repertoire.

A concert evening that promises more than just music – the sisters create a lively, emotional dialog that captures the essence of brotherhood in all its facets.
