Maik Krahl Quartet – In-Between Flow in Draiflessen: An extraordinary jazz experience
Experience an extraordinary evening with the Maik Krahl Quartet and their new program “In-Between Flow” at Draiflessen. The 33-year-old trumpeter Maik Krahl is one of the most exciting young jazz musicians in Germany. With his instrumental virtuosity and original compositions, he delights his audience without any popular show effects. Trained by renowned teachers such as Till Brönner and Ryan Carniaux, Krahl has developed his own unmistakable style.
His sound is unmistakably his own creation. His playing impresses with its originality, richness of facets and yes, also with a surprising serenity. Anyone who gets involved will experience a veritable rollercoaster ride of emotions. “In-Between Flow”, his third album, explores the continuous development of the human being and invites you on a musical journey through emotional highs and lows. Krahl is accompanied by pianist Constantin Krahmer, bassist Jakob Kühnemann and drummer Fabian Rösch.
In 2023, the up-and-coming jazz musician won the HI Five Music Award and has already won the Werner Richard – Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation scholarship three times – most recently with his quartet. “You learn a lot about yourself and the world and can get into a flow,” explains Krahl, expressing these intermediate currents with his music. With his third career move, Krahl is finally leaving behind his fear of making a decision, which the trumpeter boldly named on his debut album Decidophobia in 2018. You can look forward to a jazz quartet that is savvy, original and multi-faceted.
